DIY How to crochet a stretchy headband with flower

Using a 5mm crochet hook & regular hair elastic:
– Begin by making a slip knot
– put hook through the loop of the hair elastic and then through the loop of the yarn
– pull yarn through loop of elastic and begin to chain over the elastic
– chain 49 (for size 3-5 years old, for more size info see headband size chart and deduct 2”)
– attach end to elastic with slip stitch, chain 1
– hdc in each chain across, end with single crochet around elastic to secure
– fasten off
FLOWER:
– begin with slip knot, chain 35
– dc in 5th ch
– ch1, skip next stitch
– dc, ch1 x2 in the following stitch… repeat this pattern to the end
– turn your work and chain 3 (the ch3 will count as 1 dc)
– 5dc in space between 1st V stitch (remember, really it’s 6 dc as the ch3 counts as 1dc)
– Sc in next space
– 6dc in the next V stitch… repeat this pattern to the end
– Fasten off
– Roll yarn into shape of flower, randomly secure the flower as you go placing stitches using yarn needle
– Attach to headband
