How to crochet baby mittens:
Baby mittens Pattern (using 5mm hook)
– Chain 11 (for age 6-18months)
– Sc in each chain (10 sc)
– Ch1 and turn
– Back loop sc in each chain (17 rows)
– Fold in half and attach with sc in each stitch (10)
– Sc around the circle creating new stitches (32)
– Back loop sc 5 rounds; on the last round stop stitching 7 stitches before ending the 5th round
– Chain 7, connect the last stitch of the chain 7 with the 7th stitch from the hook (will create a hole for the thumb)
– Continue to back loop sc another 17 rounds
– Begin decrease… sc decrease, 3 sc, sc decrease, 3 sc.. continue around
– Sc decrease, sc 2, sc decrease, sc 2… continue around
– Sc decrase, sc 1, sc decrase, sc 1… continue around
– Sc decrease every stitch
– Close hole and cut yarn
– Re-attach yarn at the thumb hole
– Back loop sc in each stitch around (s/b 14); continue pattern until desired length of thumb
– s/c decrease until hole is closed up
