Crochet Alpine PomPom Hat Pattern & Video Tutorial

Materials needed:

  • 5mm hook
  • yarn needle
  • red heart comfort yarn
  • pompom (click here to purchase the ones I use)
  • scissors
  • measuring tape

Tips when working on crochet hat patterns.  Unless you’re working on a slouchy hat pattern, the measurement is very important!  Keep my crochet hat size chart handy for anytime you’re working on a crochet hat (click here)

I would recommend working your had measurements (for each measurement other than height) to be 1.5″ less than the size of the head because you want to account for the stretch.  Crochet and knit hats are very stretchy so this will ensure the hat lasts for years!!  Also, keep in mind, that if you are going to go with a hook or yarn other than what the pattern calls for you MUST follow the size chart because using a different hook size or yarn can drastically change the fit of the hat.
